This is a fully online, self-paced course. This Kindergarten Reading course provides a foundation for formalized reading and writing instruction. Areas addressed include listening and speaking skills; phonemic awareness analysis, print awareness, grammar skills, vocabulary skills; literature comprehension; and writing readiness.
The goals of the reading program are to instill a love of reading within all students by introducing engaging texts and authors. Helping students discover the different purposes for reading by exploring sub-genres, using worksheets, hands-on projects, and art. State standards are adhered to in this course, and noted on the unit overviews.
