Kindergarten Science with Special Education Support, Semester 1

This self-paced , online course introduces kindergarten students to the wonders of the natural world through hands-on, age-appropriate lessons. Students will explore basic concepts in life science, earth science, and physical science, including plants and animals, weather patterns, the five senses, and simple properties of matter. The course encourages curiosity and observation skills through interactive activities, experiments, and explorations of the environment. Designed for young learners, the course fosters a love of discovery and scientific thinking in a flexible, supportive online setting. Parents are supported through a dedicated online platform that offers expert guidance and practical resources. Parents will gain insights into their child’s unique learning needs, including understanding diagnoses such as autism, dyslexia, intellectual disability, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and learn strategies tailored to their child’s preferred learning style—visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. The platform provides simple activities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills at home, which are foundational for academic success. Additionally, parents receive respectful, adaptive approaches to support their child’s scientific curiosity and learning at their own pace. Accessible educational tools, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), help customize instruction for each child. Families have access to downloadable resources, a supportive community, and ongoing professional guidance to nurture their child’s science exploration throughout the course. This course includes 6 months of access to all materials and resources.
