This self-paced , online course introduces first-grade students to basic scientific concepts in life science, earth science, and physical science through engaging, hands-on lessons. Students will explore plants and animals, weather and seasons, the five senses, and properties of materials. The course encourages observation, questioning, and discovery as students develop foundational skills in scientific thinking and inquiry. Designed for young learners, the course promotes curiosity and a love of science within a flexible and supportive online environment. Parents are supported through a dedicated online platform offering expert guidance and practical resources. Parents will gain insights into their child’s unique learning needs, including diagnoses such as autism, dyslexia, intellectual disability, or Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and learn strategies tailored to their child’s preferred learning style—visual, auditory, or kinesthetic. The platform provides activities to strengthen fine and gross motor skills, which are essential for conducting experiments, recording observations, and other academic tasks. Additionally, parents receive respectful, adaptive approaches to support their child’s scientific exploration and academic growth at their own pace. Accessible educational tools, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), help customize instruction for each child. Families benefit from downloadable resources, a supportive community, and ongoing professional guidance throughout the course. This course includes 6 months of access to all materials and resources.
